Father’s Day is the Perfect Day for a Swim, BBQ, and a Backyard Project
It’s Father’s Day this weekend and I’m sure a lot of you are looking forward to a social distancing get together in your backyard. To all the fathers out there, Happy Father’s Day! This weekend is the perfect time for a swim, BBQ, pie, and maybe a backyard project like our first story today. Hat tip to Glenn B. for the link.
In this episode of the Cabana Club Communique, we talk about amazing things to do in your backyard for fathers day.
Top Fathers Day Gift Ideas for DIY Dads
The best one of these is the first one — building a raised bed garden. Not only can you do something outside but you get food from it. How cool is that? It also seems like one that the whole family can do and it’s something that will keep you connected to the earth and your backyard.
A Pie Recipe for Each Month of the Year Based on What’s in Season
It’s stone fruit season and that means pies, pies, and more pies. For June, Spoon University recommends making a mixed berry pie. I know, not stone fruit but May’s pie was Blueberry Peach. I guess what I’m trying to say is that why not make a bunch of pies and see which ones you like. Better yet, send us a note as to your favorite pie (or your dad’s). We’d love to hear about what you’re making.
50 Fun Ideas to Celebrate Father’s Day That are All Quarantine-Approved
From throwing your dad a pizza party at home, making a Father’s Day craft, to taking him on a virtual vacation to Disney World (courtesy of YouTube videos), or writing a sweet Father’s Day quote in a Father’s Day DIY card, there are plenty of creative things to do for Father’s Day that you can pull off without ever having to leave the house. Number 21 is one I’m sure Glenn would approve of.
The 50 Best Father’s Day Gifts for the Coolest Dad Around
It’s probably a little late to buy your dad something but if you can’t be there in person, you can always say his gift got delayed in the mail. Wink. Wink. Of course, we’ll have to give ourselves a plug for the Smart Monitor since we feel (and our Dad’s do as well) that it’s the coolest gift for your dad.
37 Ridiculously Awesome Things To Do In Your Backyard This Summer
We love the word Ridiculously since it’s so, well ridiculous, or rather fun to say (just like knucklehead). The best part of this list is that you can spread it out over the summer. Our favorite is to create a garden teepee.
At Last, an Airbnb for Pools
Swimply allows you to rent out your pool — just like AirBnB. Their tagline is Escape Locally for an hour or two. We actually talked with them a while back to see how we could work together. Turns out, we were too early for them but now that we are selling our Smart Monitor, we’re excited to reengage with.
The Cabana Club Communique is a newsletter by Sutro that highlights the beauty of your backyard, and the things that make your pool (or spa) awesome.
