What is Alkalinity Up?

Alkalinity up is the commercial name for the chemical compound sodium bicarbonate and it’s used to raise alkalinity. 

Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃) should not be confused with sodium carbonate, though they sound similar.

Interestingly, sodium bicarbonate is also the same chemical in common baking soda.

What Form(s) Does Alkalinity Up Come In And How Do I Use It?

Alkalinity up comes in the form of powder and it should be added to your pool by adding in front of a return jet. It is water soluble and dissolves quickly, so you can also add this chemical it to the perimeter of your pool as well.
